Driver Facing Charges After Fatal Crash in Carroll County

The incident took place on West Jay Louden Road.

(Carroll County, Ky.) - Troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 5 responded to a single-vehicle collision resulting in a fatality in Carroll County.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a black 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Luis Antonio Orduno, 33, of Mexico, ran off the right side of West Jay Louden Road, began sliding sideways, eventually impacting a nearby building.

The passenger, identified as Luis F. Mayoral Moguel, 31, of Glencoe, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner’s Office. 

Orduno was transported to University of Louisville Hospital and received treatment for his injuries. After being released from the hospital Orduno was transported and lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center on charges of Vehicular Homicide, DUI 1st Degree, No Operator's License, No Insurance, and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree

The accident remains under investigation.
