Crash remains under investigation

On January 17, 2024 the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle collision with entrapment at 3100 Clifty Drive.
67 year old Barry Phillips was traveling southbound in a 2018 Dodge Challenger.
64 year old Steve Fish and 68 year old James Furnish were traveling northbound in a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado.
For an unknown reason Phillips’ vehicle crossed over the center line colliding head on with Fish’s vehicle.
Phillips and Furnish were airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital.
Fish was transported to Norton’s King’s Daughters’ Hospital.
Phillips succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
