Fire Fighter Injured in Crash Involving A Fire Truck

Crash remains under investigation

GALLATIN COUNTY, Ky. (06/10/2023) – On Saturday June 10, 2023 Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call in refence to an accident involving a Gallatin County Fire truck on KY 467 in Gallatin County. 

The preliminary investigation indicates that the Gallatin County Fire Engine involved was responding to a vehicle fire with emergency equipment activated.  The fire engine slowed and moved over due to an oncoming vehicle on the one lane road.  The engine dropped one tire off the shoulder of the roadway.  Upon reentering the roadway the operator of the engine, Fire Fighter David Miller over corrected.  The fire engine overturned multiple times and as a result Fire Fighter Miller was ejected.  He was flown to the hospital for non life threatening injuries. 

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.  KSP was assisted on scene by Gallatin County EMS, Gallatin County Fire, Glencoe Fire and Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
