PRESIDENT & CEO, DORA ANIM HIRED TO LEAD NEW BETHANY LEGACY FOUNDATION (BLF)***

Private foundation governed by a Board of Directors

The former owners of King’s Daughters’ Health in Madison, Bethany Circle of King’s Daughters and Sons, have formed a new non-profit charitable group called Bethany Legacy Foundation (BLF). The Foundation was created from the recent change in ownership of King’s Daughters’ Health to Norton Healthcare.

To help manage and lead this new charitable enterprise, the BLF has hired Dora Anim as President & Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Anim was most recently Chief Operating Officer of Greater Cincinnati Foundation, and prior to that, Senior Vice President of Programs and Services at The Health Collaborative in Cincinnati.

“This new foundation represents an unprecedented opportunity for our community,” explains Darleen Connolly, Chair of the BLF. “We now have the resources to make a real and lasting impact on health and wellness in Jefferson County. We knew right away, with an initiative of this scale and importance, we needed an experienced professional and visionary to lead the effort.”

“We did an exhaustive search, and Dora stood out as a great fit for our mission and for Jefferson County. She’s an exceptional relationship builder and collaborator, with experience in healthcare, equity, and philanthropy.”

Ms. Anim, who began her new role on July 5, plans to spend time listening and learning the needs of the community before recommending any new initiatives. “It’s critically important for BLF to always listen and learn from the residents who live and work in Jefferson County to ensure we are focused on areas of investments that deliver the greatest impact,” says Anim. “We believe good health, health care, and wellness are key to a flourishing society. Our aim is a healthier Jefferson County, supported by high quality, holistic care that can be equitably accessed by all.”

The original hospital was founded in 1896 by a group of 12 women who saw the need for it. In 1899 they became the Bethany Circle of the International Order of King’s Daughters and Sons and owned the hospital for over 120 years, until the recent change of ownership with Norton Healthcare.

Today the Bethany Legacy Foundation continues that heritage of promoting and supporting community health, through sustainable and impactful acts of service In His Name. BLF is committed to creating the healthiest community – mind, body, and spirit – where current and future generations can and will thrive.

BLF will host a public meet and greet event to welcome Anim on Wednesday, August 24th from 5-7pm at the Red Bicycle Hall at 125 E Main St, Madison, IN 47250.

BLF is a private foundation governed by a volunteer board of directors. Offices are currently at 310 Courier Square, in the old Madison Courier building on West Street.
