Handgun, Narcotics Found Following Traffic Stop

(Madison, Ind.) - On April 8, Madison Polie Patrolmen Trent Smith and Josh Nolan executed a traffic stop at Main and Mulberry Streets. The stop led to the seizure of narcotics, a semi-automatic handgun, and money. 

The driver, who was identified as 38-year-old Michael D. Wilson, of Owenton, KY, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver's license. It was also found that the license plate on the vehicle had previously been revoked for failure to have insurance. 

A subsequent inventory of the vehicle revealed that both Wilson and his passenger 22-year-old Kendra E. Roark were in possession of narcotics. In addition to the drugs, Wilson was found to be in possession of a handgun without a permit. 

Both were then taken into custody without incident. 

The charges for the two are as follows:

Michael D. Wilson:

  • Dealing Methamphetamine (level 5 felony)
  • Possession of Methamphetamine (level 6 felony)
  • Possession of a Handgun without a permit (class a misdemeanor)
  • Possession of a Scheduled Drug (class a misdemeanor)

Kendra E. Roark:

  • Dealing Methamphetamine (level 5 felony)
  • Possession of Methamphetamine (level 6 felony)
  • Possession of a Scheduled Drug (class A misdemeanor)
