SR 156 open to Markland
Beginning April 1, 2019 INDOT will be working on North State Road 156 to replace storm structures.
The first project will be in the area of North Bend Farms and is expected to last 15 days. The road will be completely closed between Concord Road and Wade Hill Road.
Once that project has been completed, INDOT will begin working on N SR 156 between Upper Gridley and North Branch Roads. That stretch of road will be completely closed for 30 days.
INDOT's recommended detour route for the full 45 day construction timeframe is N SR 56 to SR 250.

**INFORMATION**
The Switzerland Co. Sheriff's office has received several questions in regards to the 156 road closure inquring if you can travel from Vevay to the Markland Dam.
The road closure is east of Concord road between Florence and Patriot so travel from Vevay to the dam is open.
Extra signage has been requested at the barricades in Vevay stating that State Road 156 is open to the dam.
This will not only help the local travelers but especially for people not familiar with the area.
