Ivy Tech Community College Names Three New Leaders in Madison

New additions are set to play pivotal roles at the college

                                    

 

MADISON, IN Ivy Tech Community College Madison announces the appointment of three new leaders. These new additions are set to play pivotal roles after the positions became available from a combination of retirement and advancement opportunities. The individuals will add to the institution’s future and strengthen its commitment to providing accessible and quality higher education. Joining Ivy Tech Madison are Dr. Jason James Jr. as Vice Chancellor of Academics Affairs, Carol Brown as Executive Director of Ivy+ Career Link, and Kate Sutter as Director of Development.

“We are thrilled to welcome all three leaders,” said Dr. Amanda Harsin, Chancellor. “Their expertise and dedication to education and career development align seamlessly with our mission for higher education. With their extensive backgrounds in their respective fields, we are confident they will make invaluable contributions to Ivy Tech’s mission.”

Dr. Jason James Jr., Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, comes to Ivy Tech from Neumann University where he served as Associate Professor & Executive Director of Graduate Education Programs. Additionally, Dr. James was an Associate Professor in the College of Business at Wilmington University where he taught in the Doctor of Business Administration, Master of Science in Management, and Master of Business Administration programs. Prior to higher education, Dr. James served as Vice President in Human Resources at Bank of New York Mellon. Dr. James has extensive experience in higher education and industry that will aid in his role as Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.

Carol Brown, Executive Director of Ivy+ Career Link, arrives at Ivy Tech from Indiana Wesleyan University, where she led the Life Calling & Career team for OMIT for over 10 years. Carol has taught as an adjunct in Design Technology program at the Bloomington, Indiana Ivy Tech location while pursuing her graduate degree in Interior Architecture from Indiana University. Carol has been a champion of integrating service learning and work-based learning teaching methods in her classes and in leading her career teams. Her expertise in workforce development and her extensive industry experience will be instrumental in driving the Ivy+ Career Link department forward. Carol will assist in providing a variety of talent connection opportunities and skills training for employers.

Kate Sutter, Director of Development, comes to Ivy Tech from Norton King’s Daughters’ Health where she excelled as the Foundation and Giving Coordinator. During her time at Norton King’s Daughters’ Health, Kate demonstrated remarkable skills in planning and fundraising through events and strong donor relationships. Kate holds a Bachelor’s in Communications with a focus in Public Relations and is currently attending The Lily School of Philanthropy at Indiana University for her Master’s in Philanthropic Studies. As Director of Development at Ivy Tech, Kate will aid in the Foundation’s most important function by providing support for Ivy Tech Community College beyond state appropriations and student fees.
