(Jefferson County, Ind.) - On Sunday, April 23 around 8:30 p.m. many residents of Jefferson County along with surrounding counites felt and heard an explosion that occurred in the area.
At this time Sheriff Dave Thomas stated that the sheriff's office is "looking into where it came from and who the people were."
At this time the sheriff's department believes that the explosion came from the area of 4723 West Interstate Block Road, near Madison Municipal Airport. They also believe that the explosion was caused by tannerite, a brand of binary explosive targets used for firearms practice.
"We are doing all we can to find who is responsible for the explosion, " said Sheriff Thomas.
