Kentucky State Police Investigate Owen County Shooting

Ongoing investigation

Owenton, Ky. (08/13/2023) – On Sunday August 13, 2023 at approximately 1:21 am Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call that advised there had been a shooting at 3775 Squiresville Road in Owenton.  The caller advised the victim was a 16 year male. 

Detectives and other Kentucky State Police Post 5 personnel responded to the scene.  The victim was later pronounced deceased by the Owen County Coroner.  The next of kin has been notified. 

As a result of the preliminary investigation Timothy Stone, 40 year old male of Owenton, was arrested and charged with Manslaughter 2nd Degree.  Mr. Stone was transported to and lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center. 

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5. KSP was assisted by Owen County EMS, Owen County Fire, and the Owen County Coroner.
