KSP INVESTIGATING OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING

EMINENCE, KY. (11/26/2021) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has been requested by The Eminence Police Department to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 8:41 p.m. EDT on November 25 in Henry County.

At the request of the Eminence Police Department, KSP Post 5 troopers and detectives responded and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. 

Marvin Galvez, 21 year old male of Eminence, was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder of Police Officer and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.  Galvez has been lodged at the Oldham County Detention Center.   

No officers or members of the community were injured during the incident.

Kentucky State Police has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the commonwealth as requested by local law enforcement agencies. Kentucky State Police is committed to being transparent while ensuring the integrity of the investigation. To protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation, it is Kentucky State Police standard operating procedure not to release specific details until vital witnesses have been interviewed and pertinent facts gathered.  Timelines to complete investigations vary based on the complexity of the case.
