Lengthy Investigation Lands Man Behind Bars For Robbery

Held homeowner a knife point during the robbery

                                     

On 09/22/2023, MPD received a report of a man armed with a knife who entered an apartment In Presidential Estates and attacked the resident, demanding money and a cell phone. Officers were unable to locate the suspect that night. The case was then taken over by MPD Detectives. After a lengthy investigation, Detective Sgt. Ricky Harris was able to establish probable cause for the arrest of Clinton D. Collins, age 41 of Madison. Detectives Harris and Cutshaw of MPD located Collins on 11/10/2023 and he was taken into custody without incident. Clinton Collins faces preliminary charges of Burglary, level 2 felony, Robbery, level 3 felony, and theft, class A misdemeanor. All charges are alleged, and Clinton Collins has the presumption of innocence unless otherwise proven guilty in a court of law.
