INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana counties, cities and towns will once again receive gas tax reimbursements after the State Board of Finance today unanimously approved the reimbursements.

“Indiana has enjoyed the lowest gas prices in the country all summer while continuing to make local communities whole, protecting local roads and infrastructure,” said Gov. Mike Braun. “I want to thank the Board of Finance for their partnership in once again helping us keep that promise."

The State Board of Finance unanimously approved $138,903,493.28 in reimbursements for the period of July 1 through July 31, following its unanimous approval last month of reimbursements for April and May. The Indiana State Comptroller’s Office will distribute $46,192,429.96 to counties, cities and towns over the next week.

“Indiana’s continued extension of the Gas Tax holiday is a reminder of what good fiscal stewardship and sound economic policies can allow us to do,” said Daniel Elliott, Indiana State Treasurer. “I commend Governor Braun for continuing his leadership on this issue and ensuring that Hoosiers have affordable fuel prices.”

Earlier this month, Gov. Braun extended the suspension of Indiana’s Gasoline Usage Tax and Gasoline Excise Tax through October 6.
