Louisville man arrested for Jennings County murder

On Monday, the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and Jennings County EMS were called to a residence on Squire Lakes Blvd. in reference to a male subject being shot. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies located Donavon Booker (age 23) who had been shot in the upper torso part of his body. First aid was given and Booker was transported to St. Vincent/Jennings Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police, as well as crime scene technicians, worked throughout the night to identify who was responsible for the shooting. Local investigators worked closely with authorities from the Louisville Metro Police to positively identify and locate the person/people involved in the shooting of Booker.

On Tuesday, at approximately 11:45 AM, Louisville Metro Police (Ky), acting on information provided by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police, conducted a search warrant at an address in Louisville, Ky. The search warrant resulted in the detention of three individuals including the alleged shooter Stephon Moore. A fourth person is currently being sought for questioning.

Stephon Moore (age 30) of Louisville has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder for his involvement and is currently being held in Louisville awaiting extradition.
