(Madison, Ind.) – On Sunday, August 9 Madison Police responded to Regatta Court area of Presidential Estates in reference to a report on an intoxicated male attempting to sell drugs.
Patrolman Brian Ashcraft was first to arrive where he located a subject fitting the description, later identified as John T. Clark, 29, of Madison, he noticed a portion of a handgun sticking out of Clark’s pants pocket.
Upon the arrival of backup units, officers were able to secure the weapon without incident. During the subsequent search of Clark’s person, officers located a significant amount of cash, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
John T. Clark, a serious violent felon, faces preliminary alleged charges of; possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon (level 5 felony), carrying a handgun without being licensed (class A misdemeanor), possession of methamphetamine (level 6 felony), possession of marijuana (class B misdemeanor), and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle (class B misdemeanor).
