North Vernon Man Arrested on Drug Charges

He allegedly told investigators he was dealing meth to "people who needed it."

(North Vernon, Ind.) - A North Vernon man has been arrested on multiple drug-related charges. 

Jennings County Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. after observing multiple traffic infractions in the Country Squire Lakes area. 

During the course of the investigation, probable cause was established to conduct a search of the vehicle, driven by Alex Simmons, 37. The search resulted in the discovery of approximately four grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

During an interview with law enforcement, Simmons allegedly admitted to dealing methamphetamine and stated that he was "giving it to people who needed it."

Simmons is facing charges of Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 4 Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)
