Four Arrested on Various Charges

Scott County-On June 25, 2021, First Sergeant John Hartman was contacted by an Indiana State Police Detective requesting assistance in locating a wanted subject.  After a brief investigation the subject was located and arrested by First Sergeant John Hartman. 

James Collings, 30, of Austin was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for two counts of Child Molest- Performs or Submits to Fondling or Touching With a Child Under the Age of 14.

On June 25, 2021, Corporal Johnney Coomer attempted to conduct a traffic stop in Scottsburg.  The driver of the vehicle refused to stop after emergency lights and sirens were activated.  After a brief pursuit the vehicle pulled off of the roadway and into a field.  Corporal Coomer was then able to take the driver into custody. 

Joseph Spencer, 36, of Austin was arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement Using a Vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement, Battery that Results in Bodily Injury to a Public Safety Official, Criminal Recklessness with a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Intimidation, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Refusal, Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication and Driving While Suspended prior.

On June 26, 2021, Corporal Johnney Coomer went to an address in rural Scott County in an attempt to serve an outstanding arrest warrant.  Upon arrival the suspect ran from Corporal Coomer on a 4-wheeler.  After a short pursuit Corporal Coomer was able to take the suspect into custody with the assistance of Deputy Jessica Dickey, Deputy Todd Hooker and an officer with the Austin Police Department. 

As a result, Eric Sizemore, 38, of Austin was arrested for an Indiana State Parole Warrant, Resisting Law Enforcement Using a Vehicle and Criminal Mischief.

On June 26, 2021, Deputy Zach Brown and Corporal Johnney Coomer responded to rural Scott County for a vehicle in the ditch.  Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of Nickey Moore, 62, of Scottsburg for Operating While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Operating While Intoxicated, Operating While Intoxicated Refusal and Public Intoxication.
