Saturday Wind Brings Power Outages And Busy Night For Area Fire, Police And Power Crews

Busy weekend of Madison Fire Department

On Saturday, winds gusting to 50 mph and 35 mph sustained, brought down power lines and trees across the area. Hanover Hill was closed a big park of yesterday so crews could repair power lines. Power was reported out not only by Duke Energy but Southeastern Indiana REMC, Shelby Energy and Owen Electric.

 

 Madison Fire Department was busy this weekend with a total of 15 runs, not only for traffic control but for fire calls. Saturday morning they responded to a report of a smoke detector sounding at 610 W 2nd St checked the building and nothing was located. An hour later, to 1318 Franklin Dr for a report of a gas leak. Personnel checked the area and nothing found. Yesterday, responded to 312 E 5th St for a report of of smoke in residents again nothing found. Then last evening, was requested by Madison Police for help cleaning up large traffic hazard in the roadway in the 1500 Blk of Clifty Dr.
