Shawe, Pope John change Date for Veteran’s Parade

The parade will be highlighted by the Award Winning Shawe Band of Gold playing the Armed Forces Melody.

(Madison, Ind.) – Due to a COVID outbreak, Shawe Memorial and Pope John Schools will be pushing back their Veteran’s Day Parade.

The parade honoring all past and present Veterans will now be held on Tuesday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. From 1:30 to 1:55 p.m. all Veterans are welcome to gather in the St. Patrick’s Church parking lot. Shawe and Pope John students will line the campus to show their support of all Veterans.

The parade will be highlighted by the Award Winning Shawe Band of Gold playing the Armed Forces Melody.

We apologize for the change in dates, but since our K – 12th grades are out for Live Virtual Learning we thought it would be a great date to show honor and thank all of the Veterans. Thanksgiving will be right upon us and we hope that many Veterans and their families will be able to join us and the community that day,” said President Phil Kahn.

The school has also stated that more information regarding the parade route will be coming at a later time.
