Shooting Investigation Underway in Ripley County

Wednesday evening in Milan

December 5, 2018, at approximately 8:30 pm, the Indiana State Police and Ripley County Sheriff’s Department responded to a disturbance on Friendship Road near Milan, Indiana in which an adult male was shot.

Officers initially responded to 3103 S. Friendship Road, Milan, Indiana after a 911 call was placed to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department. Upon arriving on scene, officers located a male, identified as Joseph K. Christlieb, age 43, suffering from a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Christlieb was given medical attention at the scene before being flown to University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

A second person at the scene was detained by responding officers however, no arrests have been made at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
