Stolen Vehicle Leads To Arrest Of Hanover Man

January 5, 2022, @  approximately 10:04 AM  Madison Police Patrolman Cody Lewis executed a traffic stop on Highway #7 and Deputy Pike.  The driver of the Toyota passenger car was identified as Derick R. Carder 34, Hanover, Indiana.  The vehicle in question had previously been reported stolen out of Jefferson County, Kentucky.  

Derick Carder was taken into custody, without incident, and charged with theft / receiving stolen property, a level 6 felony.  Additional charges of possession of methamphetamine and trafficking with an inmate were added at the jail.  Carder was found to be in possession of methamphetamine during the booking process.  Carder has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
