Subject Crashes Resisting Law Enforcement

Arrest Warrant

On April 23, 2018 at approximately 6:38 p.m. Jennings County Deputy, Thomas Mellencamp, attempted to stop a motorcycle for expired registration and disregarding a stop sign at Country Manor and Stoningham Way. The motorcycle accelerated and a pursuit began. Mellencamp pursued the motorcycle to Earlham Way where the driver of the Motorcycle, Robert Vogel, age 37 of North Vernon drove through a field. The motorcycle then entered a wooded area where Vogel wrecked the motorcycle and fled on foot. Deputy Mellencamp pursued Vogel and apprehended him after a 100 yard foot pursuit. 


Mr. Vogel was cleared by Rescue 20 with no complaints of pain, and was then transported to the Jennings County Jail where he was booked into the Jennings County Jail with a $2,055 bond.

Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle - Level 6 Felony
Resisting Law Enforcement - A Misdemeanor
Driving while Suspended with a Prior Conviction - A Misdemeanor
Reckless Driving - B Misdemeanor
Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident -B Misdemeanor
Jennings County Arrest Warrant
Jackson County Arrest Warrant
