All three taken to KDH
Brooksburg/Milton Township Fire Department responded on Saturday August 25th just before 2 pm to Sandy Beach on East State Rd 56 for a 2 vehicle MVA with injuries.
The first Milton TWP fire officer arrived on scene about 2 minutes later to find a head-on collision involving an SUV and a small sedan with 3 people injured.
One vehicle also appeared to be smoking. Engine 14 and Brush Truck 14 responded along with KDH EMS and the Jefferson County Sherriff's Department.
The three victims were removed from the vehicles and placed on backboards and transported to KDH ER.
An elderly woman who was driving the sedan suffered a broken ankle and chest injuries. The injured occupants of the SUV suffered mild to moderate injuries.
Special thanks to two offduty firefighters from the Moorefield and Wayne TWP fire departments who were in the area and were able to assist with the care of the victims. The road was shut down for over an hour due to the crash.
