Two Killed in Head On Collision West Of Kent

State Road 256 was shut down yesterday evening in the 11000 block due to a fatal accident.

35-year-old John Kevin Chadwick was traveling eastbound in a 2023 Kia Rio.

38-year-old Jessica Noriega was traveling westbound in a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze.

The vehicles collided with one another before veering off the roadway.

Chadwick’s vehicle collided with a large metal utility pole.

Noriega’s vehicle went over a large embankment colliding with several small trees before coming to rest at the base of the embankment.

Extraction and resuscitation efforts were made for both drivers however they were unsuccessful. Both Noriega and Chadwick were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by ISP, Kent Fire, Deputy Fire, Norton KDH EMS and the Jefferson County Coroners office.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Noriega and Chadwick families.
