JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O'Mara Contractors began work on State Road 62 (Clifty Drive) between Wilson Avenue and Michigan Road in early April to complete storm sewer as well as median, signal and sidewalk installation work in Madison. Storm sewer as well as median and sidewalk installation work on the westbound of S.R. 62 is now complete.

Beginning on or after Monday, August 19, crews plan to begin storm sewer and sidewalk installation work on eastbound S.R. 62 as well as continue signal modernization work along S.R. 62. Work will begin on the west end of S.R. 62 and move east. Milling and paving operations will follow, and additional updates will be provided as work progresses.

This work is part of a $12.3 million contract awarded to Dave O'Mara in November 2023. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
