Boys Varsity Football:

Scottsburg fell to Lawrenceburg 50-20

Carroll County took down Dayton 32-0

Gallatin County fell to Grant County 50-23

Franklin County beat North Oldham 47-8

Trimble County lost to Owen County 33-14

 

Congratulations to Switzerland County Football players Nick Gatto and Dakota Wallace on being named to the all-Mid-Indiana Football Conference team. Tyler Lieland was an academic-all-conference selection as well.

 

Cross Country:

Calli Alderman completed her historic cross country season running along with Indiana's most elite runners at the State Championship in Terra Haute. Sent off from Shawe Friday afternoon with a rousing farewell from the student body and staff. Calli's vehicle caravan started the trip escorted by Madison's finest,. Madison police and Jefferson County Sheriffs deputies led the group on the initial leg of the journey to Terra Haute.  The race was run at the Laverne Gibson course, custom built to host State and national tournaments.Saturday morning began with a brilliant blue skys , light winds and temperatures in the high 40's. Calli finished in 154th place out of 205 runners. As the 1st Shawe runner since 1973 to make it to State, and Shawe's only lady runner to ever qualify, Calli hopes to return again next year.

Girls Varsity Volleyball:

Jennings County defeated Silver Creek in the 3A Semi-state 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 29-27.

Southwestern's Kylie Eccles and Switzerland County's Hannah Hayes were named to the volleyball all-sectional team.
