Trimble Co. Football OFFICIALLY Cancelled For 2018

Tereshko named U of L Asst Men's Golf Coach

Trimble County district personnel have decided today to stay with the decision of cancelling the 2018-19 football season. This has not been an easy decision to make but, throughout the process, students have been the priority. The decision was initially made last Wednesday due to the fact that only 9 players had been showing up to practices. Yesterday morning at 8:00, 20 possible players were on the field. 2 of those are players with college potential and they are going to transfer regardless of whether the program continued or not. Of the remaining 17, 5 never played before and another 5 are freshmen or sophomores. That left only 7 true varsity players. It would not be safe for our students to put them on the field in these conditions. While they regret the decision, they hope that through the course of this school year they can build up the interest so that hopefully can bring the program back next year.

The UofL Men's Golf Program announced the hiring of Justin Tereshko as new Men's Assistant Coach. Justin a former Madison Cub also played at Transy and for the past 4 years was head coach at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. Justin's brother was named earlier this summer as the new Women & Men's Golf Head Coach at Hanover College.
