INcompass Healthcare Celebrates One Year of Same Day Access

SDA makes it easier for people to connect with behavioral healthcare when they are ready to take that first step.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - For nearly 60 years, INcompass Healthcare has been opening doors to exceptional care for individuals and families across 
Southeastern Indiana.

One year ago, the organization opened a new door — Same Day Access (SDA) — making it easier for people to connect with behavioral healthcare when they are ready to take that first step.

Same Day Access was created with a simple goal: make it easier for people to get connected to care when they are ready to ask for help.

Rather than waiting weeks for an appointment, individuals can walk in and begin the process of connecting with services based on their needs. From mental health and recovery services to additional supports and higher levels of care, Same Day Access helps individuals find the right path forward.

“Same Day Access is about opening doors,” said Diane Young, Chief Clinical Officer of INcompass Healthcare. “When someone reaches the point where they are ready to ask for help, we don't want unnecessary barriers to stand in their way. We want our doors to be open, our team ready to listen, and our community members connected to the care they need.”

Over the past year, Same Day Access has helped 1,737 individuals take that first step toward care. Of those individuals, 700 were connected to a higher level of care based on their unique needs.

The impact of Same Day Access goes beyond numbers. Every person who walks through the door brings a different story, different challenges, and different goals. The SDA team works to meet each individual where they are and help them determine what comes next.

“Every person who comes through Same Day Access is an opportunity to make a difference,” said Megan Carnes, Director of Adult, Child, and Family Services at INcompass. “Sometimes that first conversation is all it takes to help someone realize they don't have to figure everything out alone. Our job is to listen, understand what they need and help open the next door.”

Same Day Access is part of INcompass Healthcare's commitment to providing Exceptional Care for Everyone. By reducing barriers and creating a more accessible entry point to behavioral healthcare, INcompass Healthcare continues to work toward a community where getting help is easier, more welcoming and centered around the individual.

As INcompass Healthcare looks ahead to the next year of Same Day Access, the organization wants to continue strengthening what happens after someone walks through the door by expanding substance use disorder services, creating stronger clinical pathways for trauma, anxiety, and substance use, and promoting whole-person care.
